What a wonderful Valentine's Day gift! I had a message after dropping Alex at preschool yesterday from a developmental pediatrician (specialist) who we have been trying to schedule Max with.
Our first appointment with another doctor was canceled, because of the blizzard, and they couldn't see him until July at best. So I called another office and this doctor asked to see all his paperwork from the NICU discharge, his pediatrician, the physical therapist, etc...
She called to let me know that after reviewing all of Max's filed and information, she doesn't feel a need to see him right now. She asked if I had any concerns that she didn't know about, but said from all the evaluations so far, his growth and development seem EXTRAORDINARY for a preemie as early as he was!
She wants to see him in August. (1 year from his due date) Just for a review... but does not
anticipate any long term issues. This is such a huge relief for us. Knowing that we are growing a strong, healthy, happy boy!!!
